From fragmented work to a clearer journey

How Paul Mechaalani's sourcing and shipping experience in China shaped the idea behind Shipay.

Paul Mechaalani began working in sourcing in China in 2012 and expanded into shipping coordination in 2017. The work exposed a recurring problem: each part of a business trip lived in a different call, contact, or tool.

A supplier conversation did not naturally carry into travel planning or shipping follow-up. Visitors had to rebuild the same context as they moved from one task to the next.

Shipay grew from that practical gap. It brings local services and the wider trader journey into one interface, with clear boundaries around the independent providers that complete bookings, payments, and fulfilment.
